Maker's Market January 2010

Today is the first market in this year!!
Weather forecast predicted 20 degree and a few shower.....sounds like bit cooler.
My daughter wanted to come with me again.
I hoped she would be ok.

Anyway, when we arrived we saw a black cat.
We just lost our cat in Japan. So we thought our cat's spirit wanted to see us through this cat!

When we walk through the Convent's beautiful garden with fresh air, we felt really good...

There are half of stalls compare with other time so we had a stall at the wall side.
Looks like different view today.

I sold linen reversible hat in the early morning which was good start.
But the later on I sold 4 crystal beads rings (Mika's ring).

Thank you for U chan to accompany with me.
Thank you for my friend and friend's family to visit us.
Many many thanks for the customers
Next market will be on 20th Feb.

Mika's Ring

I used to make ball shape rings made by Swarovski Crystal beads.

I made them for present to my friends and sometimes sold to shops.

When I was pregnant, I wore the ring every time I went to check up.

Some of staff were interested to buy them

and also one of them asked to make flat one.

Then I went through trial and error,

eventually I made a flat ring.....that became Mika's Ring.

I am using 5mm crystal beads which I can only get from Thailand.

Even Swarovski doesn't have 5mm!

One of my good friend from English school,

she is living Bangkok and I asked her to send the beads over.

She is very kind and generous....thank you very much!

The rings are very simple design

but different colour one has different face.

In Australia, it is summer now,

so I made rings greeny and bluish colour.

It doesn't stretch, that is the problem.

So I made bigger size.

I am going to make bigger size rings before the next Maker's Market,

17th Jan, next Sunday!
